About Me
My Journey to becoming the Bipolar Photographer
My Mental Health Journey
Five years ago, life became overwhelming. Work was intense, and the weight of adult responsibilities in the UK felt heavy. Consequently, I visited my doctor and received a diagnosis of anxiety and depression. Although they provided medication and lifestyle advice, those changes did not solve everything.
However, photography made a real difference. It gave me a creative outlet, even though I never considered myself a “creative” person. Because of this, I finally found a way to flex my mental muscles and express my perspective.
Finding Balance Through the Lens
Eventually, life still felt a bit jumbled. I decided to see a private consultant to get more clarity. After a long journey, I received a diagnosis of Bipolar (Type 2). Now, I am on the right treatment plan. In fact, I finally have a sense of identity and a supportive community.
I often wonder if this is my superpower. Art is subjective, and everyone creates differently. However, contrast is the foundation of great photography. Therefore, using a camera to capture the contrast in my own mind feels like the perfect fit.
Why I Created This Site
I wanted to build this blog to share my portfolio in a way I can control. Additionally, I want to share my thoughts on mental health and wellbeing in a kind way. I hope you enjoy viewing my work and reading these ramblings.
Peace and love,
